About the Role
As the face of the property, you will be the first point of contact for guests, welcoming arrivals, managing reservations, and ensuring every stay runs smoothly. You will handle both the administrative and personal sides of guest service, assist with event coordination, quote and coordinate group bookings , and act as host during duty manager shifts.
This is a live-in position , ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys the peace and beauty of the countryside while contributing to a dynamic, guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all guest reservations, enquiries, and confirmations via phone and email
- Capture bookings accurately using hotel systems (SEMPER experience advantageous)
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, billing, and payments efficiently
- Act as host and point of contact for all guest queries, feedback, and special requests
- Ensure seamless communication between departments to enhance guest satisfaction
- Prepare quotes and coordinate group bookings and events from enquiry to execution
- Support the coordination of weddings, conferences, and activity bookings
- Maintain the presentation and professionalism of the reception and public areas
- Manage cash floats and financial administration for Front Office and the convenience store
- Conduct room checks and assist with guest readiness before arrivals
- Attend management and departmental meetings, ensuring proactive communication
- Uphold property standards, operating procedures, and service excellence
Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience in hotel, lodge, or resort Front Office / ReservationsStrong knowledge of PMS systems (SEMPER advantageous)Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Afrikaans advantageous)Guest-focused, courteous, and professional at all timesCalm under pressure with excellent problem-solving skillsOrganised and detail-oriented with strong administrative abilitiesExperience in quoting and coordinating group bookings or events is essentialTeam player who can also work independentlyWillingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysReports directly to the General Manager or appointed reliefWhats on Offer
